Her hair covers her face in a frizzy, unkempt mess. She blows at a curl of it in a frustrated gust as she looks up at the cloudless sky. Not a single bird nor plane in sight. Which is just as well because not even her own brother would want to associate with her right at this very moment.
The forest floor below her is still damp from the rain the night before. The wetness seeps through her jumpsuit and jacket cooling her flushed skin. Peggy raises a hand and waves it lazily.
"Oh, don't mind me. This is going exactly as I had planned."
Her mortification in that moment was absolute. She points in the direction of laughter coming from the surrounding trees.
"Not one word, gentlemen."
After all, she was the only one who hadn't seen the tree root coming. Who needed the last remnants of HYDRA to come and find them? Peggy had a rifle and her own two feet to take care of that.

But when Peggy goes down, the laughter just erupts from the Commandos, even as they try to stifle it. They're on a mission after all, but at this point, for most of the men, Peggy already feels less like a superior officer, and one of their own.
It's Steve's hand though, that appears before her, offering to help her up. The grin on his face is evident, even if he hadn't laughed out loud. But he stays silent, just as she commands. Not a word.

Her gaze is sharp, but her skin is still flushed as she looks at the rest of the group behind them, and her mouth, well, she's fighting a losing battle not to join their laughter.
"I don't suppose any of you are willing to lend me your trousers."

He gives her a nod when he helps lift her weight up from the ground, and for a moment, Steve looks at Peggy in that way he always does. Like it doesn't really matter that she just fell onto the forest floor, she's still perfect.
The rest of the Commandos though, all shake their heads. No one's packing extra trousers, though, they'd all probably be big on Peggy anyways.
"I'll take point," Steve says to her, as he motions for everyone to start moving again, but when he walks past Peggy, there's a ghost of a smile on his face when he says: "Maybe the enemy will have some trousers we can borrow."
for @withstyle
By the time it's 4 p.m., Steve's made his way to the Wagon Wheel. With whatever was in the coffee this morning, Steve's now feeling some of the withdraw symptoms, including the fact that he suddenly feels like he needs to drink as much water as possible. Luckily, during the tour, he'd asked someone to bring him a water canteen, and he's been carrying that around with him ever since.
He can't deny that he's nervous though to see her again. In the moment, everything had felt so perfect, and that kiss — christ, that kiss. It's been hard to get it, or Izzy, out of his mind today. Maybe it's because Steven Grant Rogers is a sucker for women who know what they want, and who aren't afraid to seize the moment. But he tries to push that out of his mind as he waits, because tonight is supposed to be serious. He's showing her the Specials Headquarters, so that she'll have a safe place to go in case something ever happens. Or if she just wants a little bit of privacy once in a while.
That's ... supposed to be a serious thing, right? It's not like, once they're inside HQ, and actually have privacy, anything not-serious will happen.

The biggest problem with that is that it's made her hot. No, not the fun, sexy kind either. Izzy's been sweating since she's started to come down from her coffee. And sweating, as she knows in the part of her brain that has studied the body, means dehydration. She's lost count of how much water she's drank at this point, but she left it behind for her meeting with Steve. What she didn't leave behind is her newly tweaked jumpsuit. She hasn't gotten in trouble for it, as of yet, and she's not about to change now (afterall, it's an improvement and it's a slight help with the whole sweating thing).
There's a bit of an extra...excitement in the pit of her stomach as four draws nearer. It's probably not near as much about being shown something secre as it is seeing Steve gain. She'd have to be blind, deaf, and dumb not to be attracted to Steve Rogers. That's the cause of the excitement, even if it seemed much easier to just brush it off and ignore it before. Today, its hit her in full force. And the kiss...the way that he couldn't finish his sentence. By the Angel, Izzy wouldn't mind doing that again. Instead, she does her best to push the memory back while twisting her hair up into a bun, keeping the long curls off of her neck, smile pulling at her face as she spots the much taller individual approaching their agreed spot at the center of the Wagon Wheel.
"Right on time!" She can't help the smile as her hands leave her hair. "Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less. You'd never keep a lady waiting." The natural flirt, wink and word choice, comes out easily...even without the influence of the drug. It didn't make her into someone she isn't, it just pushed her not to hold back. It's not a real date, though. That's the part to remember. Taking one last look at the view from this spot, the view that Steve shared with her, Izzy moves to take his arm again (with maybe a little less of the enthusiasm that she had earlier).
"I'm all your's, lets head out?"

This spot though, really does seem to keep bringing them back together. And outside of all the usual terrors and frights that Alpha Complex has to offer, the view looking up from here ... is still one of the most mesmerizing that he knows.
When she takes his arm, he makes sure to hold it in such a way that's comfortable for her before they start walking. Sure enough, the way there is filled with twists and turns. In the beginning, it's relatively straightforward, especially since there are other people around. But at some point, they enter a door and go down some stairs, and it becomes obvious that they're somewhere beneath the Wagon Wheel itself now. He leads her down old hallways with flickering lights, places that clearly have no video surveillance whatsoever, until they finally come to a door.
"This is it," he says, as he motions for her to put her hand on a little pad next to the handle. "I asked Tony to put you into the system. It should recognize you now."
He doesn't know if anyone else will be here at this time, since it's still before dinner and most of the Specials come here after dinner. But that'll just give him more time to show her around. That's certainly not a bad thing.

The petite woman focuses, knowing that she doesn't want to lose track of the direction that they're heading. After all, she wants to be able to get back to this place when needed. That's the whole point of their meeting up for this.
Sad to say, Izzy hasn't thoroughly explored this place. She's figured her way around the hospital and some other places, but the entirety of Alpha Complex...well, she hadn't gotten around to it yet...mainly keeping her head down and trying to figure things out in this place. So, the twists and turns that lead them to what she can only assume is somewhere under the Wagon Wheel...definitely not a route that the Lightwood is familiar with. Though, she does note the lack of surveillance...and knows that this route is something more important than the blind spots at the hospital.
When they finally come to a stop at the door, Izzy grins up at Steve as she removes her hand from his arm. "Prepared, thoughtful, and a gentleman." The tone is teasing as Izzy lifts her hand to the pad and presses there, watching as the system recognizes her and opens up accordingly. "Looks like Tony got me into the system quickly. You'll have to thank him for me if we don't get introduced before then." Izzy smiles before stepping into the headquarters, curiosity written on her face.
"How and who found this place?" The question falls out, Izzy's natural curiosity something that she's not bothering to hold back...especially since, in this case, they aren't being watched for once.
